The nLighten Nottingham data center is strategically positioned within one of Europe’s key economic hubs, offering a premier edge computing location. Situated in the northern part of Nottingham, the facility boasts exceptional accessibility for logistics and maintenance teams. It is located in close proximity to the M1 motorway, ensuring rapid transit to major regional cities, and is a convenient 25 minute drive from Nottingham City Airport. To accommodate staff and visiting clients, the site includes dedicated office spaces and ample on site parking.

Designed to accommodate a diverse range of business needs, the facility provides flexible colocation options and significant physical scale. Spanning a total area of 8,750 square meters, the data center offers everything from quarter racks to full private rooms. The infrastructure is built to support a total power capacity of 4,200 kW or 4.2 MW, with a fully built out whitespace of 8,750 square feet. Whether a client requires partial cabinets, full cabinets, or shared rackspace, nLighten provides a scalable environment for growing digital workloads.

The Nottingham site is engineered for high density computing and environmental efficiency. Each rack can support a maximum power load of 7 kW, making it suitable for modern power hungry hardware. Despite this high performance, the facility maintains a lean Power Usage Effectiveness of 1.29. This efficiency is paired with a Tier 3 design standard, ensuring that the infrastructure meets rigorous global benchmarks for uptime and operational reliability.

To guarantee continuous uptime, the data center utilizes N plus 1 redundancy for both power and cooling systems. The power architecture features independent A and B feeds delivered to every cabinet, backed by robust standby power systems. Environmental conditions are strictly managed via a cooling and humidity design that complies with ASHRAE A1 allowable categories. This N plus 1 cooling redundancy ensures that even during equipment maintenance or failure, the hardware remains within optimal thermal operating ranges.

As a core component of nLighten’s edge platform, the Nottingham facility is optimized for low latency network access. This is essential for local industries, mobile workers, and private users who require real time data processing. The center features a dedicated Meet Me Room and provides access to three peering networks, ensuring diverse and resilient connectivity options. Additionally, Remote Hands services are available to provide on site technical support, allowing clients to manage their infrastructure without being physically present.

The perimeter and interior are monitored by 24 by 7 CCTV surveillance, while physical access is strictly controlled through a combination of biometric and card access systems.
