This facility is a leading Carrier Neutral Tier III Data Centre in Africa, situated on a 22,000 sqm site within a secure private estate. A significant advantage of its location is its elevation, as it sits 30 meters above sea level—the highest point in the area—which greatly reduces the risk of flooding. The purpose-built data centre has been operational since 2013 and offers expandable whitespace, currently built out to 1,094 sq.m.
Unmatched Reliability and Power
The data centre emphasizes reliability, maintaining 100% uptime with zero downtime since its launch in October 2013. This is achieved through a sophisticated N+N power architecture, which helped it become the first and only carrier-neutral colocation provider in Sub-Saharan Africa to achieve the Uptime Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF). It features N+1 redundancy for its UPS, cooling, and standby power systems, with a fully built-out power capacity of 1.5 MW.

As a carrier-neutral facility, the data centre provides a network-abundant environment. It offers direct connections to over 40 local carriers and all five major undersea cables serving the region: ACE, GLO1, MainOne, SAT-3, and WACS. The site also hosts a Meet-Me-Room (MMR), one Internet Exchange Point, and access to 70 peering networks, offering clients diverse connectivity options.

The facility is protected by robust, 24/7 security measures. This includes a fenced perimeter, comprehensive CCTV surveillance, and biometric access control. The building is also equipped with automatic fire suppression systems. Both onsite security staff and technical staff are available 24/7 to ensure operational integrity and provide services such as "Remote Hands."

Rack Centre targets a regional industry-leading Power Utilisation Efficiency (PUE) benchmark of 1.5.
