InterDC Data Center

InterDC operates four fully redundant Tier 3 datacenters located in Doetinchem, Enschede, and Hengelo, Netherlands. With a primary focus on regional companies, twin datacenter setups, and robust fallback solutions, the company expanded its footprint by acquiring the Doetinchem site on April 1, 2021. Since the acquisition, the facility has been upgraded to meet rigorous modern standards, ensuring high availability services for a broad market.

The Doetinchem datacenter currently spans approximately 2,690 square feet, accommodating 120 racks with a capacity for up to 5,000 servers. The facility utilizes a raised floor system for cooling and overhead cable management to maintain an organized environment. Racks are arranged in a hot and cold corridor configuration to maximize thermal efficiency. Looking ahead, InterDC has the capability to nearly double its footprint by expanding into a second data floor of 2,670 square feet 250m².

Designed to Tier 3 specifications, the facility guarantees a minimum availability of 99.982% through full redundancy. Power is delivered via two independent feeds A and B to every rack, supported by Eaton UPS systems and Teksan backup generators to ensure no break 3x16 Amp service. Cooling is managed by multiple redundant Stulz systems, maintaining an average temperature of approximately 24°C. If one cooling unit fails, another immediately takes over to maintain the climate.

The facility is monitored 24/7 by high definition cameras equipped with motion sensors for low light detection. Physical access requires both an access card and a unique PIN for dual factor authentication. Fire safety is managed by a VESDA Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus laser system, which identifies potential fires in their earliest stages. All security, environmental, and fire sensors are integrated into a centralized Building Management Software BMS, with CO2 extinguishers located in hallways for manual backup.

As a well connected hub, the datacenter provides access to one Internet Exchange Point IXP, 20 peering networks, and two major network providers. These resources allow InterDC to offer diverse connectivity options ranging from shared rackspace and partial cabinets to full footprints and Remote Hands support for off site clients.

InterDC prides itself on high operational standards, holding both ISO 27001 Information Security Management and NEN 7510 Health Information Security certifications. The Doetinchem location was specifically upgraded following its acquisition to meet these benchmarks, ensuring that data is handled according to strict international and industry specific protocols.

Beyond the technical infrastructure, InterDC provides functional spaces for visiting technicians and clients. The Doetinchem facility includes a dedicated meeting room for collaborative work and a canteen for lunch breaks, facilitating a comfortable environment for those performing on site maintenance or audits.
