Telecentras launched its VDC3 data center in 2024, strategically located in Vilnius, Lithuania, near the iconic Vilnius TV Tower. As one of the Datacenter's newest and most advanced facilities, VDC3 is a key component of a national initiative aimed at modernizing and centralizing the state's IT infrastructure.
Facility Specifications and Capacity
The data center spans a total area of 1,800 square meters. This includes 600 square meters of dedicated technical whitespace, which currently supports 128 server racks. The facility is designed for growth, with a clear expansion capacity to accommodate up to 192 racks, offering services that range from full and partial cabinets to shared rackspace.
Certification and Reliability
VDC3 is engineered for high availability and robust operations. It is certified to Uptime Institute Tier III standards, guaranteeing 99.982% availability. Furthermore, its operations are managed under the ISO 22301 standard for business continuity, ensuring reliable service supported by remote hands and a maximum power capacity of 10 kW per rack.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
A standout feature of VDC3 is its advanced energy efficiency, achieving a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.2. The facility is partially powered by Telecentras’ own 8MW solar plants. Notably, it is Lithuania’s first data center to integrate with the city's district heating network, supplying up to 1MW of residual waste heat to nearby residential buildings.
