Zain (The Bunker - Zain) Data Center

The Bunker is a state-of-the-art, certified Tier III Disaster-Recovery Center located at the King Hussein Business Park in Amman. Constructed to the highest standards, mirroring military-grade specifications for security and redundancy, the facility is approximately 4,300 sq. meters in area and situated 12 meters below ground level. Its specialized construction offers resistance to electromagnetic pulse (EMP), earthquakes, fires, and various other natural and man-made hazards, ensuring maximum operational resilience for its clients.

The Bunker's intricate design incorporates reinforced walls and high-security doors for dedicated rooms. A key feature is the use of raised floors, which house the majority of cable connections underground, contributing to the facility's clean and highly organized infrastructure. The facility's essential systems are designed with high redundancy, including N+1 UPS Redundancy, N+1 Cooling Redundancy, and N+1 Standby Power Redundancy, which is critical for maintaining its Tier 3 certification and non-stop operation.

The facility is built for substantial capacity, featuring a Fully Built-Out Power of 2 MW and 4,300 sq. m of Fully Built-Out Whitespace. It can support a Max power/rack of 4 kW. This solid IT infrastructure and highly modernized communications network is constantly monitored by its dedicated Network Operations Center (NOC), guaranteeing optimal performance and quick response to any potential issues.

Security is paramount at The Bunker, which is ISO 27001 Certified. Physical security is maintained by 24/7 onsite security personnel and advanced CCTV surveillance. Access is strictly controlled; entry and exit are monitored, and only pre-assigned, authorized individuals are permitted onto the site. These individuals are granted ID badges that contain biometric information for verification, ensuring only verified personnel can access the facility.

The Bunker offers comprehensive hosting and co-location services for various sectors, including banking, insurance, and airline industries, where data security is critical. Core products include Colocation Services (Dedicated, Partial Cabinets, Full Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites Footprints), along with Bare Metal Servers, Private Cloud, and Public Cloud options, catering to diverse client needs for hosting their IT equipment and enhancing their ICT processes.

Beyond basic hosting, The Bunker specializes in advanced business continuity solutions. These include Disaster Recovery Offices and a full suite of as-a-Service offerings such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Backup as a Service (BaaS), and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). The facility also provides essential support through Managed Services, Monitoring Services, and Remote Hands for on-demand technical assistance.

The facility, which became operational in 2019, operates as a Sole-tenant space using a Retrofitted construction type. It is equipped with essential amenities to support client operations and staff, including a Meet-Me-Room (MMR) for carrier interconnections, a Conference Room, and a Breakroom. The facility maintains 24/7 Onsite Technical Staff to ensure continuous expert support for all hosted operations.
